This sculptural wall-mounted console table is made from carved wood and finished in a layered ivory-toned patina; it features a gracefully shaped marble top over a richly detailed frieze carved with oak leaves and acorns in crossed ribbon bands. The apron rests on two volute-form bracket supports with stylized acanthus carving, all unified by a paneled backboard. The table is newly painted in Farrow and Ball Cornforth White. The marble top has an ogee edge and honed finish. The material is Danby white marble. Circa 1880.
