A pair of slipper chairs, vintage upholstery in garnet red velvet. These chairs feature low, curved backs with rolled tops, accented by vertical channel stitching and a central rosette detail. The rounded seats are generously padded and bordered with a braided trim welt. The base of each chair includes a subtle trompe l'oeil seam detail that mimics a twisted rope pattern repeated along the upper backrest to echo the motif.
Each chair is mirrored in design and stands on stained birch legs. The front legs are turned and fitted with brass casters for mobility, while the back legs are gently splayed, giving the chairs a stable, grounded stance. Circa 1880.
