A pair of early 19th-century French tole sconces. The backplate is topped with gilt classical busts which are framed by Directoire motifs. Brass arms once supported oil flames, but are now electrified with two candle-shaped bulbs each. The sconces’ tole surfaces carry the patina of time. Sold as a set. Circa 1820.
