The inset wooden top features a high resolution facsimile map of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands with the Adjacent Parts by noted mapmaker and botanist Mark Catesby (1683-1749 ). The top with an inset brass compass suspended in an open work circle with floating compass under a tempered glass top.
